Excellent organist Jan Kalfus and oboist Jan Thuri play jewels of baroque music.

Soloists:

Jan Kalfus - organ

Jan Kalfus (* 1956), professor of the Organ music on the Prague Conservatory and organist in the St. Anton’s Church in Prague, is also the laureate of the Prague Spring 1984 Organ competition. He has given concertos in the most of the European countries as well as in the U.S.A. He uses to co-operate with famous orchestras (for ex. Czech Philharmonic or Prague Symphony Orchestra), choirs (Bambini di Praga) and soloists (Roman Janal). In his concerts he prefers to play Czech composers from early baroque to the contemporary ones.

Jan Thuri - oboe

Jan Thuri studied with his father, F. X. Thuri, and then at the Prague Academy of Musical Arts and in Utrecht. He is a laureate of the Isle of Wight International Oboe Competition and the winner of the competition in Picardie (France). Since 2005 he is a Professor of the Prague Conservatory and a leader of master courses in United States, Korea and Japan.


For concert visitors is St. Nicholas church open 15 minutes before the concert.
Please note there is no intermission.

 

Due to technical issues we are going to perform the concerts on the positive organ under the dome where also the whole music production will take place. Therefore we would like to sincerely invite you to the Concerts under the dome!
