Organ wednesday concerts at St. Nicholas church have been for many years one of the best concerts of organ classical music in Prague.

 

One of the best Czech organists Ales Barta will perform on great  St. Nicholas Church organ, which has over 4,000 pipes up to six metres in length.

Ales Barta - positive organ 

Ales Barta belongs to the top Czech organists. Laureate of the International Organ Competition Budapest 1983, prize-winner of the International Organ Competition Linz 1982 and the Prague Spring 1984 Organ competition,He has given organ classical music concerts concertos in the most of the European countries as well as in the U.S.A., Japan and China. His discography counts more than 30 CD’s for Czech, American and Japan recording companies. He uses to co-operate with famous orchestras (for ex. Czech Philharmonic or Prague Symphony Orchestra) and soloists (Josef Suk, Ivan Kusnjer, Miroslav Kejmar).

 

Due to technical issues we are going to perform the concerts on the positive organ under the dome where also the whole music production will take place. Therefore we would like to sincerely invite you to the Concerts under the dome!



For concert visitors is St. Nicholas church open 15 minutes before the concert.

Please note there is no intermission.
