The cultural, social and gastronomic history of this building dates back to 1930, when Mánes was built on the site of the former Šítkovské mills for the then Association of Fine Artists Mánes, which was founded in 1887. This building itself attracts visitors from all around the world due to its architecture, interior decoration and great cultural as well as culinary experiences.
The unique beauty of the reconstructed premises of the functionalist building Galerie Mánes has a genius loci referring to the history of this famous place and provides extensive use for all visitors.
With a capacity of up to 1500 people, this building is one of the largest in the center of Prague. You will always feel the breath of the history of the past, when famous politicians and artists gathered here, such as Mikoláš Aleš, Antonín Hudeček, Antonín Slavíček or Alfons Mucha. Therefore, it is no coincidence that President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk also contributed to the construction of this building.
