We are happy to be your guide through Prague opera and ballet performances.
Visit the recently re-opened and newly refurbished grand opera house with a noteworthy history where many world renown artists have worked here making each performance a prime cultural event.
This Neo-classical edifice was built in 1883 by the German Theatre Association as a reaction of German minority in Prague to the opening of the Prague National Theatre. As the New German Theatre it soon gained international acclaim for its inovative repertoire and artistic leadership including such names as Angelo Neumann, Alexander Zemlinski or Georg Szell.
Nowadays, famous operas, as well as pieces unjustly overlooked or unknown in the Czech Republic are introduced in the State Opera gaining the theatre a reputation of one of the best European scenes where you can enjoy watching mainly opera and ballet performances.
Overall rating:
BUEN MONTAJE Y MUY BUENOS ARTISTAS. NOS HUBIERA GUSTADO LA TRADUCCIÓN EN ESPAÑOL.
Wonderful performance and superb organization.
What a magnificent building, it is just the perfect environment to listen to a fantastic performance of Tosca. The orchestra - Prague Philharmonic - were wonderful too. A must experience.
Excellent service, nice restrooms, suitable food and wines.
Great Opera with excellent artists. Top notch. Beautiful venue, very professional and polite staff.
Superb music and acoustics. Top three performers were amazing. Strong, dramatic voices. Set was well done. Loved the multiple language options at the seat.
Tosca was excellent overall. Outstanding singers. But I didn't like the sets at all. All too gloomy with dark greys, and lopsided effects don't work. The Prague Opera House is very beautiful.
Très belle mise en scène. Très bons chanteurs et orchestre
Rien a redire, excellent
My family and I very much enjoyed the production of of Tosca, and the Opera House is beautiful.
A wonderful evening, we were there for my wife’s birthday and it could not have been better. The performances were great and the orchestra and acoustics also were just perfect. A most enjoyable experience for a first time to Prague.
Orchestre, direction, chanteurs, décors, mise en scène, costumes, tout était très bien. Nous avons passés une excellente soirée
Spectacle de haute volée. Orchestre et chanteurs de premier plan.
Excellent presentation at an affordable price… definitely a great experience!
Théâtre superbe.Bonne mise en scène..Assez bonne interprétation. Orchestre faible
Well sung and well acted. The orchestra was in especially good form.
Performed with an emotion backed by a magnificent orchestra.
The venue was very opulent, the staging first class, the performance was excellent, the orchestra was incredible, the staff very helpful and polite.
I don’t know if “excellent” does justice to this performance. It was so good I am considering going again next week! Of course the opera Tosca is an excellent work; this cast makes it all better. Kudos to all.
Really enjoyed the opera Tosca and the beautiful opera house was amazing, the staff were wonderful, we arrived 10 minutes late and expected to have to sit out until the first interval, but we were led directly to the 3rd floor and could see amazingly until we toke our own seats, having the english version of the opera on the screen really helped to understand Tosca. Overall our visit to the opera was the high light of our holiday.
