Chamber music of grand classical music at St. Francis Church by Charles Bridge

The organ of St. Francis of Assisi Church is the second oldest organ in Prague, built in 1702. Many famous personalities such as W. A. Mozart, A. Dvořák or J. Seger played this unique music instrument, which has been recently sensibly repaired.

Program:

  • J. F. N. Seger – Toccata and fugue C Major
  • Arcangelo Corelli – Concerto in F Major
  • A. Dvořák – Biblical songs
  • J. S. Bach – Air
  • F. Schubert – Ave Maria
  • G. F. Händel – Let the bright Seraphim
  • Johann Sebastian Bach – Prelude in D Major
  • Johann Sebastian Bach – Wir denken dir, Herr Jesu Christ
  • Antonio Vivaldi – Domine Deus
  • Tomaso Albinoni – Adagio

Our tip:

Listen to festive fanfares, played by two trumpeters in stylized costumes on the heraldic trumpets before beginning of the concert at the staircase of the church. The artists are performing usually 30 minutes before beginning of the concert.

Important:

  • No assigned seating, seating on first come – first served basis
  • The soloists perform most of the concert from the front right balcony by the organ. The last two pieces will be performed on the ground floor in front of the pews.
  • The church opens 20 minutes before the concert
  • Children under 10 years accompanied by 2 adults free of charge
  • No intermission
  • Dress code: casual
