Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3 "Scottish" or Grieg's most famous Piano Concerto in A minor

Conductor Petr Altrichter is a world traveler who has got to know the Nordic repertoire in detail. Hence Jean Sibelius' mythical Karelia. Petr Altrichter is also a musician with a big heart who, when he meets young talent on his life's journey, blows its sails. This is also the case with pianist Marek Kozák, whom he met with the accompaniment of Prague Symphony Orchestra at the Prague Spring Competition in 2016. After a sold-out recital at the World Piano Festival in February 2023, it was finally time for Smetana Hall and Edvard Grieg. The meeting of friends will also culminate in the North: with Mendelssohn's Scottish Symphony, in his own words the best.

Program:

  • Jean Sibelius
    Karelia, Suite Op. 11
  • Edvard Hagerup Grieg
Piano Concerto in A minor Op. 16
  • Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy
Symphony No. 3 in A minor Op. 56 "Scottish"

Performing:

Marek Kozák - piano
Prague Symphony Orchestra
Petr Altrichter
 - conductor
