Bass Pavel Švingr, soloist of the National Theatre Opera, will dominate with his voice in this mostly spiritually tuned concert
The Wooden Christ cycle by the Czech composer Jan Hanuš was written in 1957 and has been waiting for its performance for many years. Pianist and conductor Zdeněk Klauda will not only have the important role of sensitively accompanying the singing of Hanuš's and Brahms's song cycles but will also perform as a soloist. For this, he has chosen Bach's meditative piece from The Well-Tempered Clavier, which will perfectly complement the song programme.
Program:
- JOHANNES BRAHMS
4 Serious Songs Op. 121
- JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH
The Well-Tempered Clavier – Prelude and Fugue in E flat minor
- JAN HANUŠ
Wooden Christ, cycle of songs Op. 40
Performing:
Pavel ŠVINGR | bass
Zdeněk KLAUDA | piano
