Concert of Baroque music and poetry from the Scandinavian peninsula

The program features music played at the Swedish and Danish royal courts - both domestic composers (J. H. Roman or D. Buxtehude) and foreign composers in the service of the Swedish and Danish kings (Ch. Geist or G. Sarti). The programme will be complemented by epigrams by the Danish playwright of Norwegian origin Ludwig Holberg and excerpts from the collection of Finnish folk poetry Kanteletar performed by Igor Dostálek.

Concerts in the Liechtenstein Palace, the seat of Academy of music, are known for their high artistic level

The Liechtenstein Palace was built on the grounds of five city houses in 1591 and rebuilt in Classical style in 18th cenutry. The princely family of Lichtensteins gradually lost interest in the Palace and sold it to the Earl of Ledebour. Later on, the Palace housed many different institutions, until finally in 1980´s it was acquired by the Academy of Musical Arts.

It was beautifully reconstructed and adjusted for the purposes of the Academy. Nowadays, the Liechtenstein Palace is literally full of music! The Liechtenstein Palace is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

Important:

There are two Liechtenstein palaces in Prague. Look for the Liechtenstein Palace at Malostranské náměstí (Lesser Town Square), opposite St. Nicholas Church.

S velkou pokorou a úctou děkujeme za krásný hudební večer! Skandinávské baroko byl opravdu hluboký umělecký zážitek a souboru přejeme mnoho úspěchů a mnoh dalších spokojených diváků a posluchačů. Mimochodem - i ukázky poezie neměly chybu nejen obsahem, ale i uměleckým přednesem. Děkujeme! V.Brůček s manželkou
