This was an great production with some very good voices in the cast. We enjoyed the performance; the State Opera never disappoints.

The building is amazing and the experience. The choir was outstanding.

Es la primera vez que vemos una ópera y a partir de hoy vamos a ser unos habituales en ellas gracias a vosotros. Una grandísimo trabajo y unos grandísimos actores, excelente!

The decor was done in a modern way, which was quite awesome. The lightning strikes being realized with actual white light effects was a great touch. All of the main cast could sing incredibly well, hitting every note perfectly even when going from a high range to a low range. The Va Pensierra part of the opera was also quite magical, everyone coming out of the prison and singing the most famous part was done incredibly well. Overall I am super satisfied and would recommend this opera to anyone - even those that haven't gone to an opera before.

A very fine performance and interesting take on Nabucco. Orchestra very high quality and chorus was particularly outstanding, but then Verdi gave them a lot of great material.

Excelente interpretación en un excelente entorno

My wife and I loved the opera, Nabucco, here at the Prague State Opera on 24 April, 2024. The singers and the chorus were tremendous. My reason for not giving a 5 rating has everything to do with the confusion caused by the settings, and the extraneous and superfluous characters that were worked into all the scenes. Verdi wrote Nabucco to be set about 500 BC in Babylon and Jerusalem. The first act starts in a museum somewhere in Europe? in the 1950s. There are two bellhops walking around the stage, later we see two young girls, I assume they represent Abigaille and Fenena as children. Then later we are introduced to five flying monkeys. I was thinking the opera should be retitled "Nabucco meets the Wizard of Oz" I was searching for a program in the hope that I would see some hidden meaning the additions. At the end of Act III, the chorus took a time machine and found themselves back in Babylon, circa 500 BC, to sing Va Pensiero.

Music and singing was excellent. We felt that the staging was a little strange and quite austere. We are not opera buffs though!
