The organ -- the chief appeal of this venue -- has a fine sound in the space. It is located in a side balcony and can only be seen by a small portion of the audience. For an organ concert, that is to be expected, but one expects to be able to seen the other soloists, and as they were in the organ loft, they were largely invisible. It would have been much better to have the soloists on the ground floor near the church's altar, which might also have reduced the balance problem by putting them closer to the audience than the organ. However, I realize that makes it harder for the organist to keep synchronized with the soloists.
