Visiting the Municipal Library? Choose between going to a cinema, gallery, concert or a literary evening
Besides housing extensive library collections the Municipal Library is also a lively cultural centre. The Municipal Library (the main building on Mariánské Square) was built in 1928 becoming the first purpose-built library in Czechoslovakia and one of the most modern libraries in Europe. Nowadays, it is one of the cultural centres of Old Town with rich program including film screenings, art exhibitions, discussions, concerts and literary evenings.
