Imran Musa Zangi & Aqua Congas
Excellent percussionist Imran Zangi has been active on the Czech music scene for 40 years. Among the many groups he has performed and recorded with, let's mention Trio Jana Koubková, Yo Yo band, minus123minut or Monkey Business.
Imran Musa Zangi & Aqua Congas is a new musical formation that can be classified in the genre between fusion, funk and latino. The project is built on the foundation of the father and son rhythm section, who together released their first album Gift in the fall of 2022. The idea for the album and its actual realization was, as the title suggests, a gift from Filip Zangi to his father Imran Zangi. After its release and its christening at the Jazz Dock club, Imran and Filip decided to form a large musical formation, Aqua Congas, whose repertoire combines not only songs from this album, but also a number of other songs whose emphasis on the rhythmic component has the power to lift the audience from the comfort of their chairs.
