The music of Holy Week represents an extraordinarily diverse and profound richness

The Stabat Mater sequence was also part of the Easter Triduum services until 1727, and in Italy in particular we could hardly find a major composer who had not set the text of the Stabat Mater to music. One of the most refined works of this kind comes from the pen of Antonio Caldara.

Program:

  • J. D. Heinichen
    Lamentationes
  • F. Durante
    Miserere à 5
  • A. Caldara
