Magnifique.

The Prague State Opera house is absolutely stunning, beautiful setting. The staff were friendly & helpful.

What a great setting! Good bar facilities at fair prices. However, we were ripped-off by the “Opera-taxi” in front of the building that took us back to the hotel. We were charged 10 times (!) the amount we paid the Uber on our way to the opera building. A big shame!!!

The place is beautiful but the seats located on the sides on the second balcony, it is impossible to see the opera. It is better to buy the seat in the center even if it is very up.

L'opéra de Prague est un lieu magnifique !! Le vestiaire est obligatoire et gratuit, les places sont confortables. Un petit bémol: les sous titres ne sont pas proposés en français c'est bien dommage ! Il faut donc au préalable bien connaitre l'histoire si comme nous vous ne parlez pas couramment anglais .

Really out of date, looks like it’s from the olden days, it’s obviously been painted and that but if you’ve seen ikea recently then it just doesn’t compete, come on Prague it’s not 1997 anymore. The plaster work was not smoothed out in most corners and the ceiling had bits and bats all over the place.

We loved the nineteenth-century ambiance of this venue! Thank you!!

The State Opera is a beautiful venue. There’s so much to enjoy and the staff do a wonderful job keeping it looking sharp. I would certainly visit again the next time I’m in Prague.

We had a shared box with a superb view. The building is mind-blowingly beautiful. The staff were helpful and the arrangements for the interval marvellous. All at extremely reasonable prices. We travelled from the UK and will do again even if just for the opera.

Prague State Opera house with all that glamour is an excellent venue that contributes so much to the overall experience of watching an opera in this historic city.

Une très belle salle qui permet de profiter pleinement du spectacle. On aurait aimé pouvoir choisir des places à partir d'un plan de salle. Je regrette d'avoir choisi seulement des numéros de places , ce qui ne correspondait pas à la réalité de la salle. Un amélioration s'impose donc pour la réservation en ligne...

Why is it necessary for pay for the program after spending $50 or more on a single ticket?

We purchased seats in the second balcony first row. I am 6 feet tall The first row leg room was inadequate for my wife who is 5 feet two inches tall. For me it was painful.It severely detracted from my enjoyment of the event.

Everything about the opera is very well run, from the cloakrooms (no charge), to the programme sales, and the bars, where it was easy to order something to eat and drink for the interval and where the queue was very well managed with no pushing in. There were surtitles in Czech and English, and at each seat a tablet that gave Czech, English or German subtitles as well as interesting background on the production.

a venerable old building with the most modern equipment. The opera could be translated into different languages on the Seat-display - all information was available there. The acoustics of the State Opera left nothing to be desired for me.

The recent renovation is stunning! The boxes are elegant but quite cramped, with barely enough room for the three front seats and two back seats. The back seats are higher so the visibility is good, but there is barely room to shift in your seat. The bar was reasonably priced. Crossing under the busy roadway to reach the venue is nerve-wracking but it is conveniently located to the historic center and subway, bus and train lines.

l'Opéra d'État est un très bel édifice qui vaut le détour. Très bien équipé également, tablette individuelle incorporant le programme, le casting, les évènements à venir... et les sous titres.

Everything excellent!

I don’t believe there is a bad seat in this theater. I had 2nd balcony seat and it was fine. They have a little screen in front of each seat where you get the “subtitles” - not every single word but you can follow what is going on. The same text is displayed above the stage in Czech and English so I ended up turning my device off.

A total pleasure to be in this fabulous venue.

The venue was terrific. The sound was excellent. We would definitely attend another event.

Absolutely gorgeous baroque building. Very comfortable chairs and the touch screens are very helpful. I went twice on my visit and both the booths and ground floor are very nice.

Splendid building but not wheelchair friendly

Although the building is splendid inside and out, I have to mark it down because it isn’t wheelchair friendly. It has a ramp outside but then there are steps to get into the building.

There’s no denying it’s a beautiful opera house inside and out. It’s not that wheelchair friendly, however. There’s a ramp for wheelchairs outside but then you are faced with steps and doors, some of which don’t fully open so getting in using a wheelchair is a struggle. That’s why I’ve marked it down.

Inexpensive tickets, beautiful opera house, easy access by metro. Could use more legroom, but this is a historical opera house, so it's understandable.

The venue is gorgeous, seating is very good Sound and translation screen was very good . When leaving, a long line formed at the parking garage - strange to having everyone standing around in their nice clothes.

The venue is beautiful but the seating chart and box office needs to do a better job of indicating obstructed seats. Surtitles were obstructed on one side. The auditorium door opened three times during Song to the Moon alone. That aria is the reason I came to the show and it was interrupted numerous times by staff and late arriving patrons which was very disappointing. (During the aria not during the pause.) Ushers repeatedly came and went from the auditorium.

We had a beautiful box which had a perfect view of the stage . It was clean and comfortable too.

Il est de coutume de venir bien habillé, ce qui est normal et très agréable. En revanche, pourriez vous spécifier qu’il n’est PAS autorisé de porter des chapeaux !! Deux dames devant mon mari et moi en avait un et nous avons demandé à l’une d’elle, avec beaucoup de courtoisie, de le retirer et la réponse a été NON !! Jusqu’à l’entracte j’ai donc “ perdu “ une partie de l’opérette puisque je ne voyais pas le milieu de la scène , et nous avons dû changé de place après l’entracte. Je trouve cette attitude très égoïste et très mal élevée!!!! Merci de faire le nécessaire pour éviter ce genre de désagrément.

I'm a huge fan of the venue. It's design and ambiance are just exceeding the expectation of attending such an event.

Generally very good but my seat was extremely uncomfortable. The part that you actually sit on went down to far and was tilted forward. This combined with the height of the bar in front of me meant that I couldn’t see the stage without the bar going right through it. I had to either, slide down in the seat to see under the bar - very uncomfortable- or lean forward onto the bar so I could see over it. My seat was 2nd balcony Row 1 seat 25

The venue is incredible. The atmosphere given, the ambience and also the staff are so nice.

The State Opera of Prague is a really beautiful venue. The ornaments, the red carpet, the painted ceilings. The orchestra was between the stage and the public, which was very intimate. And yet, while the entourage was classic, every seat had a display with a translation of the phrases in both Czech and English. Also there were supertitles above the stage. In that way I could understand what they were singing. That completed the experience.

The State Opera house in Prague was the most elegant building that I'd ever had the chance to spend time in. Absolutely spectacular!

The beautiful venue is recently renovated and almost right up there with the world famous Royal Opera House in London. We saw La Boheme, and the 5th or so most performed opera in the history of the world was brilliantly performed. Easy to read subtitles, both at the top of the stage and bottom (your seat), and you might find yourself going back and forth between the two, which is ok.

We were extremely impressed by the renovation of the Prague State Opera venue. It is spectacular and we would rate it as the best venue we have ever attended.

Excellent refurbishment and restoration of the interior. Lovely to see the theatre refreshed.
