In the first act, we meet Giselle – a young, sensitive girl in love with the mysterious Albrecht. The idyll of the rural village gradually falls apart as hidden truths come to light. The dramatic finale of the first act reveals the fragility of innocence and the power of emotions that lead to a tragic turning point.
The second act takes us into the dark world of the Wilis – spirits of betrayed women who rule by an inexorable law. Here, Giselle appears not as a victim, but as a being filled with tenderness and the ability to forgive.
