Petra is inspired by the jazz vocalists of the 50s and 60s of the 20th century, a period in which America lived jazz to the fullest
Petra Ernyeiová invites you to her birthday concert, presenting a cross-section of her musical journey – from her early jazz beginnings to her current artistic direction. The evening will be special not only thanks to guest performers and friendly musical encounters, but also through the premiere of her first original project.
Women’s Voices Across the Centuries – Stories of Sephardic Women
The new project of singer Petra Ernyeiová was inspired by an exhibition of paintings of Sephardic women in the Spanish city of Córdoba. The portraits, capturing their faces, gestures, and the atmosphere of their time, became the foundation for an original cycle in which their stories come to life. Petra has transformed them into music, giving these women a new voice and bringing their legacy closer to today’s audience. The music combines jazz, Jewish motifs, and blues, creating a unique sound world. The project is a joint work of Petra Ernyeiová, guitarist Adam Tvrdý, and double bassist Petr Dvorský, who all contribute both creatively and interpretively, shaping its character together. In the dialogue of these three musicians, music emerges that seeks new ways to connect distant history with the present.
Petra Ernyei – voc, Adam Tvrdý – guitar, Petr Dvorský – double bass + guests: Jan Keller - violoncello, Miloš Dvořáček - drums.
